It’s International Women’s Day today, and to celebrate, we’ve highlighted a handful of events happening in the UK and East Midlands designed to support, motivate and inform, so that we can work towards better representation and equal pay for women in the tech industry.
Women in Tech Nottingham (Monthly Meetup)
Women In Tech Nottingham organise monthly talks, fireside chats, workshops and social events lead by women, for women, whatever sector of tech you work or are interested in.
Network, mingle, share ideas and learn in a comfortable city centre setting.

Ladies that UX Nottingham (Monthly Meetup)
Geared more specifically towards those with a passion for UX, Ladies that UX Nottingham aim to “create a welcoming, transparent community of women that work in UX, who positively promote and teach each other.” The group meets every month in the
city centre, but you can find other Ladies that UX groups in Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast, Bristol, Reading, Brighton, London and Cambridge.

Women Who Code, UK-Wide (Monthly Events)
Women Who Code are an international network dedicated to creating a world where women are proportionally represented as technical leaders, executives, founders, VCs, board members, and software engineers. Members gain access to training resources, leadership opportunities, over 1,700 annual global events, scholarships, free event tickets, and the WWCode Job Board. They don’t have a WWC branch in Nottingham yet, but you can apply to set one up or join an existing branch in Edinburgh, Belfast, Bristol or London.

Superfast Leicestershire Digital Growth Programme Conference, Thursday 15th March 2018
This event is not aimed specifically at women, but offers business leaders the opportunity to understand how the digital landscape and marketplace are changing and how they can benefit. It will look at new technology and solutions in an environment designed to inspire new ways of working, bringing together some of the UK's leading authorities in digital marketing and technology solutions.

Girls in Tech Catalyst Conference, London, Wednesday 28th March 2018
This “raw, gritty and authentic” conference will attract a powerhouse audience from every corner of tech: entrepreneurs, software engineers, product marketers, venture capitalists, high-tech employees, students, digital marketers, innovators and more. With intimate TED-style keynotes, panels on entrepreneurship, startups, tech and social good, networking events, and workshops, it’s not to be missed.

Wonder Women Tech Conference, London, Friday 15th June 2018
As part of London Tech week (11th-17th June), this one-day conference will highlight, celebrate and educate women in STEM, and includes a free career fair. This years conference will focus on Diversity and Inclusion, Social Innovation, Fashion Tech/Wearables, Fintech and Interactive Technology.
